Auger, Post Hole - 1959.4.3
Auger, post-hole. Used to drill a hole in the ground for post-holes. Steel rod (square with beveled edges) 42 3/4" long with auger end at final 3"; other end has a helve for wooden handle (missing). Working end has a split steel plate just above the auger point, to force the auger into the ground and lift out the soil. Donated by Marcus Phillips, Hulberton.
